Sia

Date: 29th November 2007
Venue: King Tuts Wah Wah Hut
Once more I managed to see Sia and get control of my urge to run down and propose to her (although I had planned to pack my Borat endorsed Marriage sack
)
I you have read my Zero 7 review from last year then you are aware of who this talented person is. She has appeared on all the Zero 7 albums and even found the time to throw out a couple of her own.
Tonight she was out promoting her newest Long Player “Some People Have Real Problems”.
The fact that for the first song “Buttons” the whole band came out in glow in the dark costumes kind of set the theme for the night….. good music and hijynx. I shot the grand entrance and posted it on You Tube, have a look for yourself here
But please do not think that humor is used to make up for a lack of talent….. this girl can sing her damn lungs out, it is hard to beleive that someone so petite can have the lung capacity and musical range that she does.
Normally if someone played 4 songs by another band, I would view that as a poor effort, but since the 3 Zero 7 songs Sia gave us were originally sung by her, I let it pass
we were given Destiny (my favorite Zero 7 song), Distractions, Somersault.
Not that her array of tracks from “Colour the Small One” and “Some People have Real Problems” where by any means not worth the ticket price, she played my 2 favorites Sunday and Breathe Me.
The songs were entertaining, she pretty much dedicated each one to people in the crowd and her banter with the crowd was equally entertaining from this Auzzie princess, here is a clip of some of the banter
All in all, it was a great show, the band were great, the songs were great and Ms Furler was exceptional. When you can’t see Zero 7, you could do a lot worse than settling for the Voice of Zero 7!!!
