Date: 5th May 2005

Venue: King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut

Ok, for the first time in ages, I saw a support band that I liked. Little Barry were a 3 piece outfit that reminded me a little of G-Love and the Special Sauce or John Spencer Blues Explosion without all the distortion. Their funky Bass lines, catchy rythmns and blues guitar riffs had myself and Rob entertained for their whole set. Little Barry, def one to watch!

Format took the Stage around 9.50 pm and started off with the intro from his new Album and was quickly joined on stage by MC’s Abdominal and D-Sisive and launched straight into “3ft Deep”.

There was a big problem though, for some reason the sound was quite shit and you could not hear the bass very well. Although this was annoying, Format and the boys kept us entertained through out there whole set.

One thing I have noticed is that any time a band ask for someone from the crowd to join them on stage, they always pick the most pissed guy in the audience, tonight was no exception. Abs got a guy to eat some breadsticks whilst he rapped in one breath, the guy was then supposed to whistle the tune to “Here Comes The Fuzz”. The guy being slightly puggled was unable to do this and instead made some insane drunk noises before spraying the front 3 rows with the breadsticks he had just eaten. Bands need to be warned about Scottish piss heads before inviting crowd participation!!!!!

Still it was all in good fun and apart from the sound, the set was flawless. There was even a freestyle bit where Abs would freestyled about things that the crowd had written down for him, with that in mind he proceeded to Rap about The Election, Waking up with Michael Howard, Wrestling and some guy called Mark’s Lesbian Haircut?!?!

D-Sisive is a welcome addition to the team and kept us nodding in approval as he went through his own freestyle stuff as well. Both he and Abs compliment each other on all the tracks such as “Ugly Brother”, “The Hit Song”, “Rap Machine” and “Ill Culinary Behaviour”. Lets not forget Format himself cutting it up on the turntables, that boy has the skills!

I can’t stress this enough, THIS IS WHAT HIP HOP IS ABOUT, not about slagging off each other or talking about how many guns you have, it’s about having fun.

Both myself and Rob enjoyed it.

Abs, D-Sisive, Format, they’re not just tight, they’re Ziplocked!
