In Memeory Of
This is quite a Personal Blog for me, and although I have published it, it is more for me to look back at later time, but please feel free to read.
I am just back from Rye. I wish my journey to see my family down there was for happier reasons, but sadly Patricia Scott, my Dads partner and mother of my half-sisters down there died on Saturday 7th July. It put things in perspective for me, I mean I am busy stressing about moving house and my dad has had to deal with losing a second partner and my sister are having to deal with losing there mum to cancer. (Don’t know about anyone else, but it freaks me out the number of folk I know that have either had cancer or cancer has affected their lives in some way). At the service it brought back memories of my own mothers funeral which was 10 years ago this October, yet it doesn’t seem that long ago, don’t get me wrong I am glad that my dad found Pat again after my mums passing, it give him a life back that he would not have had if he remained in Scotland and it gave me a chance to get to know my sisters down there, you just need to read my Aviemore blogs to see what a great thing that is to me but, I dunno, I guess with the whole house move and what happened at the weekend I am just reminissing too much, so many chapters coming to a close at one and I am left feeling that I can’t wait until this month is over.
So here’s to Pat, the woman that gave my dad a second shot at life. I know you will be missed by all those that knew you.

I will be back to my usual self next blog. Actually, quick rant. I stopped at a couple of service stations on the way down and back up to rest, grab something to eat and strech my legs. I noticed that in each of the stops, they had a couple of Coin-op arcade games in the terminal. I kind of chuckled when I saw this as they were all driving games!! Come on, what were they thinking “hmm yes, after having been driving for X amount of hours, how can we help our customer’s relax?….. I know lets install a driving game in our arcade bit, that would help”" DOH!!

Sorry - would have commented earlier but couldn’t think of anything appropriate to say. Still can’t, really, but thought it was better to say something than nothing.
My utmost condolences to you and your family.
And re: your rant - I believe that the service stations deliberately put in driving games, the theory being that it allows drivers to take out their frustrations on a game, rather than in reality. Whether or not it works the other way round is, of course, open to debate.
