Aviemore 2007
Guy has just come back from his annual trip to watch the Husky racing up at Aviemore, and as usual, it rawked!!!
Special bonus features included that my cousin that i hardly get to see came up for the event and i even got to catch up with Jedimooses very own Kung-Fu Kitten who was also in Aviemore for seminars and she got to meet my four legged neice and nephews which included the newest member “Hooper”.
Sadly again this year my brother-in-law’s team was out as his lead dog D’Jango was a little ill and unable to race (my sister thinks I am a F*#~ing Jinx :P) as one of their other dogs, Weasal was out last year. Another sad thing to see was My Bruv-in-law’s mate Andy’s team. One of his dogs “Elvis” has a brain tumour and although is not in pain is quite ill and no longer able to race. He collapsed at the starting line last year. But as a treat, he got hooked up to the rest of the team after they crossed the finish line and got to trot back to there van like a proper sled dog, all the racers were cheering when they saw him, it was really sweet to see.
As usual the place was wall to wall with Huskies and Malamutes (I really really want an Malamute they are excellent dogs!) and Samoyeds (although GI does not think much of them!!)and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Here is fottage of Ken and Jane’s team (My sister’s sister in law) starting the race, my cousin is also helping out in this clip
Even when up the Cairngorm on the Sunday, it was -4, snowy and pretty much Zero Visabilty, but passed some of the time.
Anyway, I am off to enjoy the last of my holiday before back to work on Wednesday ![]()
Here are some pics from my weekend. I have stolen a leaf from Illyria’s book and opened a Flickr account, more pics there

And last but not least, a bit of a warning from GI, if you have ever seen John Carpenter’s “The Thing” and it scared the shit out of you, avoid Aviemore in the last weekend of January, is it a dog or is it The Thing???
