Panic buying over new year

Ok, I know (most of) the grocery stores are closed tomorrow, but honestly folks its just 1 day, why do we need to buy so much food over this weekend, are we expecting a delayed reaction from the biggest non-event in history… Y2K. Are we expecting the economy to come crashing down? Society to collapse? The world to end (in which case, why do you need all that stuff anyway)?

Do we think “hmm, the shops are closed on the 1st so I better buy 12 Pizzas just in case????”

In case what???? everyone in the west coast decides to first foot you after the bells while being absolutely starving at the same time????????

I queued for a while in Morrisons yesterday just to buy a couple of extra things for tonights New year meal, now I know that people may do their monthly shop on a Saturday, but when I saw the quantities that people were buying for certain products, I think it went a bit beyond that!!!

So it leaves people like me struggling to buy a loaf and stuff cause everyone else has bought like 10 of them!!!

Rant over.

Everyone have a safe and happy new year.
