Tears, Laughter and good music

The Tears
Yesterday day could have only been described as the shittiest work day I have ever experienced in my whole career in my department. Recently, the powers that be made everyone in the Glasgow district of my department apply for their own job, something to do with the staff cuts promised by the government last year. I was lucky enough to be as they call it “Selected in” but there is no way I could feel good about this when I realised that six of my colleagues, all good at their jobs, were not and would be getting declared “Surplus”. The mood in my office was grim, the way they senior management decided who goes and who stays was diabolical, I have never been more ashamed to work for my employer as I was yesterday. I felt really bad for the shameful way my colleagues had been treated. We had a quiz planned for last night, but out of respect for our colleagues, it was cancelled.

The Laughter
The only good thing about the quiz being cancelled was that it allowed me to attend Uni to get my certificate for the course I did last year. Even though I still felt shit about my colleagues, I thought I would try to enjoy myself. Unfortuantely not many of my colleagues from the course could be their, but it was good to catch up with those that were and we had a good laugh reminising about the course before we received our certificates. (I am being geeky because I am proud of this accomplishment and am considering framing int hahahahaha)

The Music
Went to see the Scots own Teenage Fanclub perform Bandwagonesque at the Barrowlands last night with good ol’ Ajay. check out the review here.

ok. booo! about the tears, yay! about the laughter, and oh my sweet jeebus! about the music!
Firstly the death threat had been lifted and it was only a curse you had on you. I had a blast - the fanclub were immense. I was down the front the whole time and pretty much had to buy a t-shirt as mine was soaked through with sweat (mmmm…nice!). The pogoing was not only to sparky’s dream believe me. Brendan being on top top form, added to the normal fanclub also being on top form made it one of the best gigs I have ever had the pleasure to attend. I was in heaven from ’she wears demin….’

Boy do i hurt today though.
