The Road to Redemption

Been a while since I was at the GFT, but since it was Lenny the Bruce’s 40th Birthday myself and Ross though we would take him to see a movie and have a few beers afterwards. I was interested to see what kind of director Tommy Lee Jones would make, and I am glad to say I was not disppointed.

The film takes place on the Mexican border and, without ruining too much of the story, is about a Texas cowboy keeping a promise to his dead Mexican friend.

Excellent performances from Tommy Lee Jones as Pete the Cowboy and Barry Pepper as the macho, gun-ho Border patrol man Mike Norton. This film looks great, and was quite deserving of the Best Actor (Tommy Lee Jones) and best Screenplay awards at Cannes in 2005.
