A birthday Rant
Ok, it is my website’s first birthday, and I know I should be all singing and dancing but something bothered me today and I feel i have to get it off my chest!!!
When I was coming out of my work at lunchtime to go get my lovely Morrisions sandwiches, I noticed a little girl crying. There was a dog tied to the fence just outside my office, the kid had ran at the dog to pet it or something and the dog barked at her giving her a fright and upset her. Now I imagine that this would be quite a trumatic experience to a 4 year old, but too my amazement I heard the parents say “thats terrible, that dog is a meance!”
Ok, blame culture strikes once more as again people shun there parental responibilites and look to excuse themselves from any blame because their child was upset.
I like dogs, I was brought up with dogs being in my house, my sister has a pack of huskies that i think are great, but even I know that you wouldn’t approach a strange dog as you don’t know how it will react. I acknowlege that a 4 year old kid maybe does not have that level of comprehension yet, but WHO IN THERE RIGHT MIND LETS A CHILD APPROACH A DOG WITHOUT CHECKING WITH THE OWNER FIRST!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Now I admit, that this dog did seem slightly aggressive and should have been muzzelled, in fact probably should not have been tied up outside my office in the first place, and I would have hated anything to happen to the child and would be first to say that the dog should be put down should it have, but still, the fact that the parents automatically jumped to the conclusion that it was the dogs fault, pissed me off!!!
Again I know that it was not totally the parents fault, the dog owner has a huge part to play in this, but i do feel that their lack of supervsion of the child’s parents has to be brought into question as well!

Blame culture! I hate it!
I was thinking the other day that they should make claimers of compensation pay the legal fees of both parties if their claim is rejected - that would make them think twice!

Happy birthday GI!
I am fed up of being blamed for stuff at my job. It makes me want to leave and live on a remote island. With all the moose guys.

If somebody sends me an e-mail to do some important job and I ignore it, and a month later they lose their job because they were unable to do the thing they needed from me is that my fault? No. They should have prepared for all eventualities.
If a dog eats a child, is that the dogs fault? No. Dogs have sharp teeth and any moron knows if something has sharp teeth it is going to eat you, or wait until you fall asleep and then eat you. Tigers are totally awesome but note the lack of tigers kept in people’s houses.
The parents should have dangled their own bare arms in the dogs face to see if it was dangerous. I never approach animals in the street without firing a few shots in their direction first.
