The Descent

Just back from the flicks where I went to see The Descent with Ajay and Enzo. I really really enjoyed it. As I said before, I was a fan of Dog Soldiers, and Neil Marshall has given us another good horror movie, this time without the comedy aspect.
The movie actually makes you feel claustrophobic and disorientated while watching it as nearly all the movie takes place underground and in caves. Its a film where all the lead roles are played by women (except the monsters of course) who put in good performances. There is a lot of “scares” in it, but not too O.T.T with them happening every 2 seconds or so. The monsters look great, as I presume this was a relatively low budget movie, I was particularly impressed.
Usual GI rules, no spoilers.
At a time where Hollywood seems to be churning out Horror remakes by the dozen, it is refreshing to see an original movie which easily out does most of the American competitors.
Take GI’s advice, see this film while its still in the Cinema, I will probably buy it on DVD, but it won’t be the same.
Oh, we also got a trailer for the film “Stealth” and I noticed it has been a while since I destroyed a movie, so probably go see that next week ![]()
