London

What can I say, I was shocked at todays events, I can’t even begin to think what the people of London are going through today. My thoughts are with the injured and family and friends of those that were sadly lost today in this senseless attack.

The selfish part of me is more glad that my family and friends in London are ok and hope that they can move on past this as soon as they can and they and London return to some level of normality as quick as possible, if they don’t then the terrorists win another victory.

I also would like to say that I was impressed with the emergency services and how they reacted today, without their efforts, no doubt the death rate may have been higher.

I don’t want to get all political at this time, I just hope that the Government and indeed the Country do not make any rash decisions based on emotion that will make the situation worse.

    My colleague sent me the e-mail below. It’s from her fiancĂ©’s boss…

    Subject: Ref: London Bombs….

    I woke up today, only to find that a bomb had exploded 100 yards away from my flat on Edware Rd. What do you do? I asked myself… I decided to do what I do everyday, brush my teeth get ready for work and come in. Okay the journey was pretty crazy; I walked past 300 police officers down Edware Rd, with people running around panicking. It took me around 30 mins to get in, which was the most I had walked for years!!! As I walked, I thought I’m not going to let this affect me, I will get into work, not because I had to but because I didn’t these idiots or anyone for that fact get in my way. I’m going to do what im going to do, and no fucker is going to change that, by time I got to the office things were more normal again…

    It really took me back to 9/11, at that time I was sitting in a office in Victoria, and recall thinking exactly the same thing, listen if your going to die your going to die, whether it’s a bomb a train, or by a disgruntled client…. Your fate is written;

    1) I went with a team to Riyadh 1 week after the largest explosion occurred outside the ministry of interior.

    2) I was in Rafik Hariri’s house in Beruit on New Year’s eve, only to find that he was killed by a massive car bomb 3 weeks later.

    3) I went to Uzbekistan with a team, and dined with the old KGB.

    4) I went to India and ate at a Taaba.

    The key is to get back on with it, don’t spend your life, and time thinking what if, if you do, then the idiots that did this win.

    I appreciate we all want to discuss this, but I would prefer if people don’t spend the entire day discussing the events…

    Further I would like to thanks the staff that did come in, and worked the full day. Especially the team that set-up the show for tomorrow, despite today’s events.
