Pool Wars II
Ok ok, I will be first to admit it, Guy Incognito was all talk in his last comment about thrashing Bannon and Gasmetre at pool. The sad truth is that your hero was absolutely trounced by Bannon, Gasmetre and his mate Frank. My pool playing skills defy logic, just when you think I have figured the angles, seem to be potting my colours, I some how mange to crash and burn. This was illustrated in one game against Frank where I just had to sink the black which was sitting right at a pocket, somehow I blew it!!!!!
I did win 2 games out of god know how many, Gasmetre sunk the black and I beat Frank (although I have a sneaky suspision that he let me win to save me an ounce of dignity!) so I was not completely “Grannied”
Bannon was on fire as usual and was beating Gasmetre and Frank, I think both these competitiors got a couple victories over him but as I left at 8 pm, I am unaware of what the final results were, but I am sure both Bannon and Gasmetre will be commenting on the site to give the full results. My last memory of the night was a blood oath by Bannon to totally destroy Gasmetre.
Ding Ding, seconds away, round 3.
After the games I met Ross and went to see Buck 65 at King Tuts, check out my review.

Well what can I say, i talk the talk and I appear to walk the walk. As Dick Advocatt once said, ‘you can only beat who is put in front of you.’
Quick run through of the scores
Bannon 7 Gasbag 4 (it was 7-1 but i became bored and used my left hand)
Bannon 9 GI 0
Bannon 8 Frank 2 (suprise entrant brought by Gasbag to upset my momentum)
What have we learned from this latest round of pool wars, well truthly not alot. We now realise that Gasbag is merely full of hot air and that GI is indeed some kind of anti-pool playing demon of confusion. We can also say with some confidence that Frank’s opening statement of ‘if I win one or two games I will be happy’ was in fact not a double bluff.
Once again I throw down the challenge to all comers and invite everyone and anyone to Pool wars 3 ‘This time it’s Boring’ Venue to be confirmed.
Whether you are rubbish at pool or the best player in the world the one thing I will guarantee you is that GI will amaze you with his lack of basic knowledge of the game and the occasional stroke of total genius when he pulls off a shot that Earl Strictland would be proud of!
My friends, the gaunlet has been thrown down, who wants a piece of me?

GI your talk of an aging past it burned out once great super star of the Sheffield Pool halls may be correct but both my arms could fall off and I would still give you ‘one hell of a beating’.
I accept the challenge of mrben or any childhood tv show character. If Pugh, Pugh, barney Mcgrew, Cuthbert, Dibble or Grub are out there then come get a piece!!!
Oh and if anyone wants to help me move house on the 2nd of July there will be a chinese meal in it for them!

Sorry - Make Poverty History march on the 2nd.
Guy - definitely up for a game of pool. Although I’m a bit rubbish, I may be able to persuade Gary to come; he’s quite good…..

Many thanks to GI for helping me move house. mrben all that remains is for you to name the time and date and we can get this thing done. GI will obviously be there to provide light relief when we watch in amazement as he lands the cue ball six tables away from it’s intended target.
Just a wee message to Gasbag…. get well soon mate and see you back on the blue beize soon.
