Bullet Boy

Myself, Marc and Robin went to see this film tonight, WOW, really, really good, the best British film in a long time!!!!
Don’t get me wrong, this is not the sort of film you should see if you are after something light hearted and fun, no, this is really really gritty, thought provoking and realistic.
Ashley Walters (or Asher D from the So Stoopid Crew) is excellent in this. He is a far better actor than he is an MC in my opinion and gives a good perfomance for his first time on the big screen.
This movie is a sort of a British “Boyz in Da Hood” as it deals with gang culture and mentallity and shows it in a very un-glamouristic fashion, no BLING BLING etc, basically it shows what happens to you if you are associated with this way of life.
As I said, maybe not the easiest film to watch, but if you can sit through American History X, City of God and movies like that, you will enjoy it.

i have to agree with this reviewer, a very good but very bleak film to watch. Reminded me of ‘Everybody Loves Sunshine’ at parts. My only gripe being that it was just a little slow in getting started (im a very impatient man at times) but its well worth the wait. Go and see it and be thankful you’re not mixed up in all that, and if you are well, take heed!
