Be Cool
I really like ‘Get Shorty’ as a movie, never read the book but liked the flick. I was really looking forward to seeing ‘Be Cool’, sadly I was quite disappointed. ![]()
Don’t get me wrong, the movie is not terrible, just not as good as it could have been. It’s pretty much the ‘Get Shorty’ storyline again but you just replace the word ‘Movies’ with the word ‘Music’ and hey presto you have ‘Be Cool’. There is lots of pointless, drawn out scenes in the flick like Travolta and Uma dancing, we already saw that in ‘Pulp Fiction’ there was no need to see it again, and any time a song is performed, we have to watch and listen to the full thing, after a minute of the song, I am sure we would have got the same idea!
There are some funny moments in the film. The two people that steal the show are The Rock and Andre 3000, both of these new comers to the movie industry far out act Travolta, Kietel and most of the other cast, except Vince Vaughn who provides us with his usual high standard of acting.
There are worse way to spend your evening than watching ‘Be Cool’ but again there are lots of better ways as well. I will let you decide.
Although I don’t regret seeing it, its not a movie that I will add to my DVD collection. I would settle for just getting $4 back!!!!!
