Thievery Corpoartion - The Cosmic Game

Ahh the Thievery boys, always been a fan since they released “Sounds from the Thievery Hi-Fi” back in 1998. There latest offering is a welcome return from Mr Rob Garza and Mr Eric Holton and gives you the perfect music for lounging about to on a Sunday afternoon. Contributions from The Flaming Lips, David Byrne, Perry Farrell (who normally bugs the crap out of me) only help make the record sound better. The soothing voice of Pam Bricker is missing since she sadley passed away in February this year so there are no tracks of ‘Lebanese Blonde’ vocal quality.

As usual, there is a heavy Dub and Bossanova influence on most tracks and a lot of Brazillian percussion intertwined with their high standard of produced Electronic sourced sounds and lots of down tempo beats that easily sooth your soul.

I really like this album, it is probably there most well produced to-date. I know they are not a well known band, and they are not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you fancy something a bit different, check ‘em out here
